Service to the Sangha
Shakyamuni Buddha told us that the Three Treasures in our lives are the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.  As an expression of taking refuge in the Sangha you are encouraged to donate money to expenses and also to donate your energy and talents to keeping the Sangha “afloat.”  During the year we need someone to set up the Calendar, liaison with the Friends, see that we have a weekly Doan & opener (Ino), contribute to our website and coordinate social events.  The sesshin requires 3+ months of planning and finding a committed staff.  Working on the sesshin is a suitable service for Sangha members who live a distance from the Bay Area.  If you are unable to make a long-term commitment, we always have a need for someone to help set-up the zendo at our Saturday in-person practices, or to serve there as the time keeper (the Doan).  Please let a long-term student know if you are interested in Sangha service.
