Practice refers not only to sitting zazen meditation every day, and also to longer periods of meditation weekly in community, or in weeklong retreats and sesshins. Experiencing a life of meditation deepens insight and compassion in everyday life.
Expressing gratitude for the teaching through financial offerings (dana) and volunteering for duties in the community (sangha) are also means of practice.
Finally, deeper practice and commitment unfold as a practitioner sews Buddha’s robes, or a rakusu.
